Halloween is Sunday, and while trick-or-treating is a huge highlight for kids, some families like to get together for a night of spooky movies. While things like “Halloween” and “Nightmare on Elm Street” aren’t exactly kid-friendly holiday fare, there are some spooky movies suitable for kids, and now a new report reveals which ones are most popular. USDish has come out with a list of the most popular spooky children’s movies by state.
The list is based on the most popular googled Halloween movies rated PG or G. The movie that tops the most states is “Scooby Doo,” the top search in 13 states including Alabama, Michigan, and North and South Carolina.
Other popular spooky kids movies include:
- “Coraline,” a top search in 10 states including California, Nevada and Utah.
- “Ghostbusters,” a top search in eight, including Pennsylvania, Virginia and Missouri.
- “Beetlejuice,” a top search in five states, including Vermont, South Dakota and Delaware.
- “Hocus Pocus,” a top search in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
- And even “ET,” a top search in Hawaii, Florida, Maryland and Maine.
