Lil Wayne's son Lil Novi thinks his dad dropped his best album six years ago.

The 15-year-old artist was asked to name his dad's top three albums during an interview TRSH Mag posted on Thursday, November 28. Novi admitted he doesn't listen to Wayne's older music. However, in his opinion, Lil Novi believes Weezy's best body of work is his 2018 album Tha Carter V.

"I'm going to be so cooked for this question 'cause this is just not my generation," Novi began. "I'll say his top one album I'll say the newest Carter. I think it was Carter V or something like that. That s**t was hard."

As he expected, some fans weren't happy about his pick. In the comment section of the YouTube video, Wayne's loyal followers seemed upset that his son didn't know much about his discography.

"How doesn't he know any of his dads music??" one fan commented. "Like seriously, he's a legend, the best to ever do it!!! Smh."

Like Lil Novi said, his dad's music isn't part of his generation. Lil Novi was born in November 2009 to Wayne and his ex-fiancée Nivea. He's the youngest of Wayne's four children including his daughter Reginae Carter, 26, his first son Dwayne III, 16, and 15-year-old Kameron Carter, who he shares with actress Lauren London.

Lil Wayne's son may not be familiar with his entire discography, but he's well-versed enough in music to work with his dad. The father-son duo collaborated on their first song in 2020 for Weezy's No Ceilings 3. At the time, Novi went by Young Carter and rapped on "Hollywood." Wayne's other son Kameron also made his debut on the song "Kam." Novi has improved a lot since then. He even shared a snippet of a new song earlier this year. His manager and entrepreneur Jave Q says the young artist plans to grow in the music industry and expand his discography over time. He also says it took him two weeks to schedule Novi's now-viral interview.

"Since being featured on No Ceilings 3, Lil Novi has skyrocketed, using the spotlight from his dad Wayne’s endorsement as a launchpad for his own unique sound," Jave Q tells iHeartRadio. "His rise is a testament to talent meeting opportunity, as he carves out a space in the game with raw energy and undeniable skill."
