VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP WITH NEVADA DONOR NETWORK
Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz announced today, October 28, that the Vegas Golden Knights will be teaming up with the Nevada Donor Network to encourage organ donation and support access to transplantation services.
As the team’s newest proud partner, Nevada Donor Network – the only organ procurement organization based in the state – will connect with fans through game-time activations during home games at T-Mobile Arena and in Toshiba Plaza, as well as through online and social media platforms. Additionally, NDN will be included in VGK license plate promotional cards, extending the organization’s collaboration with the State’s DMV as part of their Donate Life Nevada program.
“Since our team took the ice in our inaugural season, supporting the health and well-being of our community members has been a primary pillar of our organization,” said Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz. “We’re proud to partner with the Nevada Donor Network to educate our fans about organ donation and encourage them to enroll in NDN’s lifesaving programs.”
“Organ procurement is a critical lifesaving healthcare program,” said Joe Ferreira, President and CEO of Nevada Donor Network. “Through our partnership with the Vegas Golden Knights, NDN will be able to reach even more Nevadans encouraging them to become donors through the Nevada registry. The partnership will also aid in our mission to educate more people about the critical needs facing the hundreds of Nevadans waiting for lifesaving transplants.”
Currently, more than 113,000 people nationwide are on the waiting list for a lifesaving transplant, including more than 600 Nevadans. Nevada Donor Network serves more than two million Nevadans and thousands more across the country to coordinate, recover and allocate lifesaving organs and healing tissues for transplantation and research. In collaboration with dedicated hospital and community partners, NDN honors the wishes of heroic donors and their courageous families to give those in need another chance at life. According to the internationally recognized metric standard for donation rates, Nevada Donor Network holds the status as a world leader in the number of lives saved per capita through organ, eye and tissue donation. Throughout 2018, Nevada Donor Network coordinated the recovery of 530 lifesaving organs from 130 organ donor heroes, 799 tissue donor heroes and 1,238 cornea donor heroes. These statistics place Nevada’s organ procurement organization at the top of the list for lifesaving healthcare programs.
