We're eating our salad. Believe it or not, Americans are eating more salad these days. Whether we're becoming more health-conscious or just realized that salad is something else to pour ranch dressing on, a new survey found that 62% of Americans say salad is a part of their regular diet. Seems the average American eats four salads a week. The most popular lettuce is iceberg, and more than half of people surveyed say they eat salad to get some veggies into their diet. Based on the answers provided by those surveyed, the "ultimate salad" would consist of the following:

Iceberg lettuce, spinach, or romaine.

Something crunchy like croutons, walnuts, or almonds.

Something savory like eggs, seeds, or cheddar cheese.

Veggies, including tomatoes, cucumber, or carrots.

A good amount of dressing like balsamic vinaigrette, blue cheese, or ranch.
