Now that Las Vegas has a professional hockey, they are hoping to spark interest in the sport among kids.
The new NHL team is hosting a series of workshops called "Sticks for Kids." The idea is to teach youngsters the basics of the sport.
They have already have 3 clinics where the staff members taught the basics. The aspiring hockey players even got to take home a free street hockey stick.
Below are the times and locations of the remaining events:
- Sunday, May 21
- Desert Breeze Park (8275 Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 89147)
- Four sessions: 8:00 a.m. PT, 10:00 a.m. PT, 12 noon and 2:00 p.m. PT
- Saturday, June 3
- Anthem Hills Park (2256 Reunion Drive, Henderson NV 89052)
- Four sessions: 8:00 a.m. PT, 10:00 a.m. PT, 12 noon and 2:00 p.m. PT
