Bobby Shmurda Is Back!

Bobby Shmurda is back!

On the day that Certified Lover Boy hit the market Bobby Shmurda has thrown his 2 cents into the rap world, releasing his new song and video “No Time for Sleep (Freestyle).”

This marks Bobby’s first official solo release since his prison release, as the new vid has Bobby leading an interrogation and bringing in video game inspirations for his trek into Brooklyn.

Shmurda is fielding offers for a potential feature film or documentary surrounding his comeback story.

Bobby was released from prison in February after more than six years behind bars, and he’s looking to turn his time lost into a positive.

I feel like being locked up, it made me smarter,” he said. “It made me stronger. And it made me badder, but in a good way. Instead of saying, boom, ‘I want to go in the streets and cause hell,’ I’m saying, ‘I want to go in the streets and give back.’ I feel like that’s gangster.”

Bobby Shmurda is a pioneer of Brooklyn drill music, Bobby rose fame in 2014 when his song "Hot Nigga" hit at number six on the Billboard Hot 100.

Shmurda would sign with Epic Records and released his debut EP, "Shmurda She Wrote."

Bobby got his start remixing Crime Mob's "Knuck If You Buck,"but "Hot Nigga" put him on the map as the music video went viral on YouTube. Shmurda's signature "Shmoney dance" became an internet meme and was featured in popular Vines and was replicated by Beyoncé and Jay-Z on their On the Run Tour and Drake when he hosted the 2014 ESPY Awards.

The track was freestyled over by Juicy J, French Montana, Lil' Kim, Gunplay, and T.I. The music video has received over 649 million views on YouTube. The song's remix featured guest vocals from Fabolous, Chris Brown, Jadakiss, Rowdy Rebel, Busta Rhymes, and Yo Gotti and a reggae remix of the song was also released that featured Junior Reid, Mavado, Popcaan, and Jah X.

"Bobby Bitch" would follow on the Billboard Hot 100.

Shmurda made his first concert performance appearance since being released from prison after 7 years at Rolling Loud.

Earlier this year, Bobby Shmurda's “Hot N*gga” jumped from platinum to 5x-platinum.

The track only certified platinum when he was arrested in 2014 and now his Shmurda She Wrote debut EP is certified gold while “Bobby Bitch” went platinum as well.
