Coming out of Carol City Flo got street cred from the 2 Live Crew, and joined the group called the GroundHoggz. The GroundHoggz, would eventually be featured on Fresh Kid Ice's album Freaky Chinese. Flo would go solo and became associated with The Eastside Boyz, as the single "Birthday", featured Rick Ross, and was his first release. He made his debut appearance with the song "Bitch I'm From Dade County" on DJ Khaled's album We the Best in 2007, which featured Trick Daddy, Trina, Rick Ross, Brisco, C-Ride, and Dre.

Flo's debut album, Mail on Sunday, was released in 2008, and the first single "Low", featured T-Pain, and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Elevator", featuring Timbaland, "In the Ayer" featuring will.i.am, and "Roll" featuring Sean Kingston followed, and charted on the Hot 100.

Flo would guest on "Move Shake Drop" by DJ Laz, "We Break the Dawn" by Michelle Williams, the remix of "4 Minutes" by Madonna, "Running Back" by Jessica Mauboy, "Feel It" by DJ Felli Fel, and the remix of "Speedin'" by Rick Ross.

Flo Rida's second album, R.O.O.T.S., was released in 2009, and "Right Round" featuring Kesha, was released and jumped from number 58 to the top spot in one week. The second single "Sugar", featured Wynter Gordon, and reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Jump", featuring Nelly Furtado, followed and the album became the eighth best selling rap album of 2009.

In 2010, Flo created his own label, International Music Group, and his fourth album, Wild Ones was released in 2012. "Good Feeling", was released and peaked at No. 3 in the US. The next two singles "Wild Ones", and "Whistle", reached No. 1 and #5 in the US.

In 2014 Flo released "G.D.F.R." featuring Sage the Gemini, and the song became his tenth top 10 hit, peaking at number 8 in the Billboard Hot 100. His second single called "I Don't Like It, I Love It" featuring Robin Thicke and Verdine White, reached the No. 43 and the title track to his EP "My House" became an international success, peaking at number 4.

Flo Rida's career firmly places him on the Mount Rushmore of Florida Hip-Hop and today we celebrate his birthday!
